Welcome to LATAN's Computer ReUse Program!

This program provides access to refurbished desktop computers that are more affordable for all Louisiana citizens with disabilities or functional limitations, senior citizens, family members, and their caregivers through an agreement with Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council.

We have received generous donations in the past from Century Tel and Entergy Corporations to help more people access refurbished computers with the aid of partial stipends. Please contact us if you have information on potential funding resources or to inquire about the present availability of stipends.

Cost: $265, which includes tax and delivery to your door.

Delivery Time: To consumer's doorstep by Federal Express in approximately two weeks from receipt of application and payment.

Application Process:
1. Download Application
2. Application may be filled out on the computer and then printed out for signing and submission.
3. Ensure application is completely filled out, and LATAN and Microsoft agreements are signed and dated.
4. Payment can be made by check or money order made payable to LATAN or by filling in credit card information.

Note: Check The AT Marketplace for other low-cost or donated "as is" computers. If none are "available", register for an account, log in, and list your "need" in case one becomes available in your area of the state through our partner, National Cristina Foundation.

1. Q: What does "refurbished" mean?
   A: "Refurbished" means that the computer has been used before, but has been checked over to ensure it is in good working condition.
2. Q: Is this a desktop or laptop computer?
   A: It is a desktop computer.
3. Q: Do you have laptops?
   A: No, we don't have access to laptops. One website you might want to look at for refurbished laptops that LATAN has found, but by no means endorses, is www.USANotebook.com.
4. Q: Does LATAN have a payment installment plan?
   A: No, LATAN is not set up to receive partial payments.
5. Q: When will I receive my computer?
   A: In approximately two weeks after LATAN receives your completed application, signed agreements, and payment. Anything incomplete will delay the processing of your order.
6. Q: Does the computer come with a printer?
   A: No.
7. Q: How will I get my computer?
   A: Your computer will be delivered straight to your door by Federal Express.
8. Q: Are flat panel monitors available?
   A: No, only regular 17" CRT monitors are available.
9. Q: If I don't have a printer, how can I get an application?
   A: Call or email LATAN and an application will be mailed to you.
10. Q: Does LATAN take in used computers?
    A: No, but we hope you will consider creating an account and listing it on our recycling database, The AT Marketplace so others may access it.
