Visitability
Visitability is a movement to change home construction practices so that virtually all new homes--whether or not designated for residents who currently have disabilities--offer a few specific features that make the home easier for people who develop a mobility impairment to live in and visit. A house is visitable when it meets three basic requirements: (1) at least one no-step entrance, (2) doors and hallways wide enough to navigate through, and (3) a bathroom on the first floor big enough to get into in a wheelchair, and close the door.
