I think we can all agree that we’re happy to have 2020 in our rearview mirrors! Last year was filled with challenges and heartache by so many. Our thoughts and prayers go out in support and rebuilding.
We are looking forward to the possibilities of greatness in 2021!
This past year, we had to focus our attention on Louisiana communities impacted by natural disasters, especially in the state’s rural parishes. We were able to increase awareness of the benefits of assistive technology devices and services.
Covid-19 has affected nearly every aspect of our lives and specifically how we operate here at LATAN.
Covid 19 changed how we provide services by accelerating digital solutions to keep us actively engaged with the communities we serve. With continued advancements in technology, we look forward to increasing access to assistive technology in 2021.
We’ve increased access to assistive technology by expanding our Alternative Financing Program portfolio to include a Revolving Loan Fund (RFL). The RLF option extends credit up to $10,000 for the purchase of assistive technology. This program allows AT users to gain credit to purchase the equipment needed and increases personal credit scores and better financial management.
LATAN remains committed to promoting the development and utilization of technology as a critical instrument to helping people with disabilities and/or functional limitations achieve greater independence within their chosen environment.
We have numerous ways to connect. We can meet virtually by scheduling a visit to our Demonstration Center or as a gracious guest of your home, school, or business place. We are dedicated to safely assisting Louisiana residents in obtaining the assistive technology needed to promote independence and improved quality of life.
