Device Loan Program

LATAN is pleased to offer Louisianians with disabilities the opportunity to borrow a variety of Assistive Technology equipment and devices for trial use prior to making a purchase, or during the time in which the device is being repaired, or while waiting for new equipment to be delivered.

Who is Eligible to Borrow?

  • Individuals with any type of disability or limitation and who are Louisiana citizens.
  • Agencies and organizations that work with individuals with any type of disability or limitation.

What is the Length of Time for the Loan?

An individual may borrow AT devices from LATAN for a period of thirty-five (35) days. This includes the day it leaves LATAN to the day it is received by LATAN from the borrower.

Any request for extension of the device loan must be submitted to the LATAN Device Loan Program in writing which includes e-mail, fax, US Postal service, and received by LATAN ten (10) days prior to the expiration of the original loan period. Additional fees will apply.

Are There Any Fees?

Yes. The actual fee is dependent upon the value of the device. LATAN accepts the following types of payments from the borrower: cash, check, money order, PayPal, major credit card.
